Don |
As many of you will be awere It is with great sadness that we heard the announcement of the passing of Don, a significant loss for the aeromodeling community, our club, and his numerous friends and family members.
Don was a passionate aeromodeler who generously imparted his expertise to many enthusiasts. His dedication to our club extended far beyond that of a typical member, reflecting his deep commitment to the sport.
As one of the founding members of Model Aviation Northland, Don's legacy will be enduring, leaving an indelible mark on our club that will be remembered for years to come.

I was truly honoured to present Don with the Life Membership Award that was accepted most gratefully and cherished close to his heart.

The container key lockbox is now relocated back to the container, and the weather station is back online.
Just a reminder: If you are flying and the robot mower is operating, please call Doug or Carl to get it parked.
Club Captain |
Reminder to all CLUB Day is this coming Sunday 30th March 2025!.
I plan on getting the BBQ fired up and providing some BBQ snacks for hungry aviators.
If you have any exotic feeding requirements you are welcome to BYO for cooking.
Weather has been SUPER GOOD for the past few weekends with plenty of flying being done (and a few bumps and scrapes!). Lets hope weather continues..
A big welcome back to Steve & Cael Sharpe both of whom have been burning plenty of fuel and having a great time.
Also a big welcome to Sean Grenfell who has been getting a bit of trainer time with yours truly (along with our Club Chairman) and judging by the flights it shouldn't be long before Sean is up and running!.

The Tauranga Model Aircraft Club Auction is back again this year as we attempt to equal that record. It is an annual event and our auctioneer this year once again is Tony Christiansen who is well known in the modelling community. Our auction attracts model flyers from all around the country and is a great social gathering as well as a place to buy and sell.
This year the auction will be held at the Classic Flyers Museum venue, Mt Maunganui at a slightly earlier date of Sunday 25th May.
MFNZ is replacing the physical membership cards with a new digital system. The goal of the change is to lower costs and the amount of administrative work needed to distribute the cards. We’ll also be able to deliver cards and updates in a much more timely manner! You will have the option of a membership card on your smartphone or a card that can be printed out on paper. As we change to this system you’ll receive two emails. The first will be for those who want to install a digital card on your Android or Apple phone. It will only need to be installed once and then all details can be updated remotely. The second email is for those who want a paper card. The email will have an attachment with a PDF file. The PDF will be an A4 page containing your membership card cutout. Members can print this out / store the email etc and present this when requested. Click here to view a sample PDF card from Friday morning everyone will be emailed an invite for the digital card. The email invite to the digital card will only be sent once. Those that lose / can’t find the email can email/text me a request to resend the email. The PDF email will be sent every time information on the card is updated. So the minimum is the PDF will be sent to everyone once a year to each member!RegardsPaul CleggAdministrator, Model Flying NZemail: admin@mfnz.orgphone: 021 986 566
