Greetings to Members and Friends of MFHB! As you know, at 7.00 pm on Wednesday 21 August, we are having a monster plane and model auction at the National Service Club to raise funds to rebuild the Deans’ Shelter. If you have anything in the rafters gathering dust that you want to donate to the cause and want it to go to a good home, hit me up or contact Barrie Russell. We need to know by the end of this week so we can put it on the list of auction stuff. It’s going to be a good one, so donate generously and then bid vigorously. This is our one auction for the year so let’s make it a good one. Pres. Marty.
The deadline for Model Flying World September edition is Friday 23rd August you're going to put an article in the magazine, please inform Murray (editor@mfnz.org) as soon as possible and he'll book you space in the layoutIf you want the magazine on time, please send your articles on time!RegardsPaul CleggAdministrator, Model Flying NZemail: admin@mfnz.orgphone: 021 986 566

Wings – Proficiency in FlightModel Flying New Zealand Wings is a proficiency program ensuring our members are competent and safe!
The wings tests are broken down into 11 disciplines, 6 basic and 5 advanced, 4 specialist endorsements, and observer training. The wings program is accepted by the Civil Aviation Authority NZ and is the qualification needed for pilots to operate within 4km of an aerodrome as per CAR101.205
Wings is only valid for recreational use, commercial use of the qualification is strictly forbidden and invalidates its use as well as jeopardising membership.
Your wings qualification will be valid for 5 years (phased in from 2025) and is composed of both theory and flight tests, administered by Model Flying New Zealand Wings Examiners. Watch this space we will keep you informed Note: We have examiners within our club contact Grant Plaisted for details. If you're a bit gun shy about prequalification just reach out as we are here to help.
